Important information about the scope and use of Mail Security Studio assessments.

Point-in-time information

Mail Security Studio provides an automated, point-in-time assessment of publicly observable DNS records and externally accessible mail-server behaviour. Domain records, policies, certificates, networks and server configurations can change immediately after an assessment is completed.

Not a certification or guarantee

A grade or finding is not a security certification, accreditation, warranty or guarantee that a domain, mail system or organisation is secure, compliant, available or protected from abuse. A strong result does not exclude vulnerabilities or configuration weaknesses outside the checks performed by this service.

Technical limitations

Results may be incomplete or affected by DNS propagation, split-horizon DNS, rate limiting, firewalls, unavailable servers, outbound network restrictions, certificate-revocation data, resolver behaviour and temporary service failures. DKIM cannot be discovered conclusively without the selector used by the sending service.

No professional advice

The service and its reports are provided for general informational purposes. They do not constitute legal, regulatory, compliance, audit, risk, insurance or other professional advice. Obtain appropriate independent advice before relying on a result for a material decision.

Verification and responsibility

Users remain responsible for verifying findings, determining whether recommendations are appropriate, testing changes and maintaining their systems. Changes to DNS, mail authentication or transport-security settings can disrupt legitimate email if implemented incorrectly.

Third-party systems

The assessment may interact with public DNS resolvers, certification infrastructure and mail servers operated by third parties. TechKee Limited does not control and is not responsible for the availability, accuracy, security or behaviour of those systems.

Message-header analysis

Message-header analysis is based only on the supplied text. Headers can be incomplete, modified or forged and cannot always prove final inbox, junk or quarantine placement. Geographic indicators are estimates. Complete pasted headers are processed transiently and are not retained; only privacy-safe usage statistics may be recorded.

Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, TechKee Limited excludes warranties relating to the service and accepts no liability for loss arising solely from reliance on an automated assessment or report. Nothing in this disclaimer excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
